I am a Cuban-American software engineer with over 20 years of experience. I have worked with a variety of technologies, languages, and frameworks, and I am passionate about developing high-quality software over distributed technologies.
I first learned to program when I was 15 years old (with Pascal), and I have been hooked ever since. I love the challenge of solving problems and creating something new. I am also a strong believer in Test-Driven Development (TDD), and I use it to ensure that my code is of the highest quality.
My most relevant experiences in software started when I joined ThoughtWorks in Ecuador, where I was introduced to TDD, cloud providers, and the use of infrastructure as code. I also learned a great deal from my talented colleagues there.
In 2015, I came to the United States with my family. Here, I have also been very fortunate to work with very smart teammates and on highly interesting products.
In my current role as Principal Software Engineer at Kasasa, I lead a team of engineers in the development of new features and maintaining a lending platform. I am also responsible for mentoring and training less senior engineers.
During my career, I have had the opportunity to learn many languages, frameworks, tools, practices, and techniques, some of which I will cover in articles when I find value in sharing them.
I am always looking for new ways to learn and grow, and I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with others. I created this personal website to share my thoughts on software development, and I hope that it will be a valuable resource for other engineers.
